Naked pictures, pants, tea bags, pegs, CD's and books?
I wasn't going to write a post today as I wanted to hear you views on the London thing and Daniel Flay. Today is mail day for me aswell. I go through the mailed in submissions I get from all over the world, open them, find the contact details, tell them not to send a CD but set up a blog then I recycle the CD's.....
However, today I received something that really made me think. I often receive things out of the ordinary, sweets, teabags, a clothes peg, naked pic/underwear (difficult to recycle) etc. However, today I received this....
Someone had sent a book in addressed to Bob Dylan. On opening it I found a collection of traditional folk songs..
The dates start around the early 60's. I found an index of English and Amercian folk songs some of which I recognised, other's I didn't, is fascinating stuff.....
What made me a little sad is as the book progresses from the 60's through into the 90's the writing goes from well documented and indexed tunes into more random songs. I'm guessing as the chap got older his handwriting suffered.
I've had a look through and think I have a return address, but I thought I should share it somehow before sending it back. I'll try and copy some of the unknown songs out of it and send them onto some folk sites that collect that sort of thing. Any suggestions of sites welcome.
Please don't send on stuff though as I still have at least a day's worth of stuff to go through which takes me away from the usual things I need to do.
Hope all is well with you.
