Stylists Over Substance?

Eh, I still think you're cool, don't worry! ;-)

I wanted to tell you what's new and exciting here!!!! -I FINALLY got a new computer: Duo Core, with Vista and a bunch of cool new toys like Adobe Acrobat 2.0, which lets me mix down my "mixed down" tracks a bit better. -Meaning I can suppress some of that "hiss" in the track I asked you to listen to.

-It's still a bit new to me, but I'm catching on quick!

-I've remixed the first 6 tracks (out of the current 14 on it). -I still have to send them back to my digital 8-Track to mix together, and move on with the next 6 tracks, but I'll get it done. -The easiest thing to do would be to just retrack everything, but I decided that I'd take some time to learn this Adobe Acrobat first, then redo it all.

Sorry to ramble a bit, but I'm just sooo excited to FINALLY have a computer from this century, that I just wanted to share the good news with ya!

I trust that all is well with you. -Take care, and get those old pots washed!!! ;-)

well...while you would probably lop us into the subculture fray you mentioned, our band treats everything we do as a business. while we're here to play music, we know that there's alot more to it than the music and it starts with building the brand through the music AND through the visuals.

not only does your look give more dimension and context to the music, it helps the people that buy it connect with you on an entirely different level. and while look is important, so is your visual ID. if you have a strong, recognizable brand...it can be indicitive of quality and people that have never heard you may give you an early pass even if they don't take to the music right away. on the other hand, if your logo sucks, it can turn people running the other way.
Evidently , everyone will be dressing as Tibetans, this year.
Stylists are cool. All bands are like at the top of there respective fashion. I'd look at Muse Showbiz time MattB looked like a fool, now he looks like a pwoper cool guy with his styilized Tee's and funky boots.

Oh and your still cool ;)
We spend a long time on our promo material and website etc...because getting people to and keeping them on your website is half the battle in getting heard.

In terms of image, I think that can be difficult for bands who arent extremely genre specific, such as heavy metal, hair metal, screamo, punk etc.

www.riderband.co.uk - I think we have a strong online presence :-)
I think image is vital today, we live in a media saturated society whether we like it or not, the music is or should be the main element but style I feel can really make a band.

Here's to Shell suits I say lol!!
Does anybody else know anything about a Tommy Flynn's gig on the 26th April?
Yes, it's happening still. Sorry haven't been about. Haven't been near PC enough. Will email you tomorrow.x
