Was having din din outside one of those lovely pubs near the Dublin Castle and heard my name being shouted from the corner.
Normally I try and hide at that point anticipating an ear-bashing from some disgruntled artist who, though my comment of "Nice, still early days, maybe more rehearsals?", wants to make it clear how pointless a human being I am. That actually happened once.
But no! It was Chris from the Lost Levels. They'd just played a set at the Dublin Castle which I'd unforgiveably forgotten about, even after my girlfriend reminded me, twice. I was too busy doing manly DIY things such as putting up shelves and errecting my punch bag. Luckily I had already agreed to go to the 93 Feet East gig which everyone should attend. Every time I see them their set develops another shiny coat of lushness. Visit their myspace now, make friends now and get their newly released single, er now.

Was running about yesterday so didn't get chance to get on the blog. I need to get me one of those posh phones so I can blog anywhere.
I've got two artists coming in today, one of whome I'm filming. The other has been recommended to me so I'm getting them set up with a blog whilst they're here seeing someone else. Then we can all get a lookin. I may not get time for both so as long as they know one of the addresses it should be cool.
I probably don't know the right people to speak to for equip as I work in my own little world most of the time. So I spent yesterday finding equipment to hopefully record a impromtu performance of a songwriter chap. Managed to find a DAT gathering dust in someone's office, plus a spare blank DAT tape (thanks Rachel). So with that, I've got me big DV camera, mic stand with condensor mic, mixer, assoicated cable-idge and found a space tucked away to do it. I don't really have much of a technical background but I am a nerd and enjoy playing with new toys. Invited a small gathering too so will try and score some confectionary to keep them happy.
Will let you know how that one goes.
Tuesday night was good fun. Did Jujitsu as per usual and really went for it, quite bruising but satisfying at the same time. However, a selection of us went back to one of our fellow student's flats and got quite drunk. I also snaffled a pizza the size of me. Which was lovely but not inkeeping with the healthier lifestyle I'm trying to adopt.
So what's happening out there? Oh yes, take a look at the columbiademos blog. There's a good video of Fox Cubs on there. I really like their tracks. Well worth a listen though the audio on the video isn't that great. The original MP3 is on their blog.
