Hello,
Working from home today as it's all digital stuff, no meetings or requirement for the real me to be anywhere until later.
Caught up on some of the influx of demos we've been getting. Need to catch up with the really good ones.
When to see this chap last night. Really excellent stuff, reminiscent of Ray Lamontagne. For you females out there he's quite a handsome fella too.
I went to the regal rooms at The Distillers in Hammersmith. First time I;ve been there but really enjoyable. Very well put together night that's also webcast live. Good idea, I'll have to give that a try.
There's one track you really need to hear called Fortune. I'm highly impressed with this one and will be punting as best I can.
I'm going to try and visit The Electric City in the studio today. I also have a good feeling about this one too. A tight unit of a band who are great on stage. I'm looking forward to going to another one of their gigs soon. I would check them out asap.
I will post up the stage times of the bands for 'The End of Camden' showcase tomorrow as I need to contact them all individually to make the arrangements. As usual, these are all acts I really want to see so I'm excited about it. I should probably be slightly less self-indulgent with my choice of bookings. I'm hopefully getting this one filmed professionally. But I'll believe it when I see it. :-)
So what's happening out there, anything interesting?
Hope all is well with you.

Gigs @ 24/01/2008
As I haven't been drawing attention to the gig guide I thought I should start writing these bits again.
Just the one tonight. The Blood Choir are playing the Porter Cellar Bar in Bath tonight. So go check em, espcially if you like your vocalists from the Richard Ashcroft camp.
I'm a bit poorly this morning.
Went to Groove Armada at Hammersmith. Good god it was messy. A friend of mine took me and introduced me to her mates at The Distillers. They're all in the acting business, wont name drop but they were all very nice and enjoyed the conversation.
The pub is really nice, only been there a couple of times before. The toilets are often a good measure of a pub. Had to go before heading onto the Palais. Nice cubicles, no urinals but on the whole very clean. On exiting the cubicle I realised my mistake. "You are sooooo in the wrong room!" said the rather surprised girl in front of me. I'll make sure I read the door next time.
Historically I've not been a big Groove Armada fan. However, I ended up on the dancefloor jumping around like an idiot screaming my head off, got hosed down with beer, fell over and generally had a fantastic night. About halfway through their set the room went mental and the set went from strength to strength. For the encore, as soon as people heard "I see You baby..." the room really exploded. A great finale for the venue. :-)
Saw Ged. Was good to have a quick chat. He was interested to know what was happening with my end of the blogging and what I'd been listening to.
So the Hammersmith Palais will be no more soon. It's quite sad, I really like that venue. But what a party, it did the venue justice. I tried getting video on my camera, but it looks a bit rubbish to be honest.
Weekend's nearly here which means I will be going through the hundreds of PM's you've sent, listening to a whole heap of your tracks and leaving comments on the stuff I find. I hope all is well with you out there. Keep the good stuff coming.
Can more of you put details of when you're gigging on your blogs please? It's difficult to find these things out sometimes.
cheerios
Be sure to check out Mike's blog of the event, for those of you who've become fans of his sketches he's uploaded his artwork from the night. Polly managed to get some great shots too. Have a look around the staff blogs and you'll probably find more stuff.
PS. Make sure you visit The Map. :-)
